Got the dirt good and plowed up last weekend. I was wanted to get the seeds out too but there was no rain in the forecast.

So, here's another weekend, and still no rain in the 10 day. Unreal. I'm tempted to throw it out anyway and hope the weather folks are wrong. I only have sat/sun to get it done. Starting to get late.

What would you do?

Wait, still have plenty of time to get it done. Given the current forecast & an upcoming elk hunt, it's gonna be October before planting my annual plots.

Did get some brassica done last month before good rain. Ones in the bottoms are doing good, but others are struggling, won't be surprised if have to overseed some with wheat next month.

Last year we only got 2" of rain in September & the year before it was only .25"! This is historically our driest month.

Yep, patience is key. I believe BSK used to say that a lot of seed was wasted on labor day weekend.
 
Well... I guess that's the answer I'm looking for then. Gonna hold off and wait. Maybe I can at least til in the lime and fertilizer. Thanks for the advice.

I'm keeping an eye on this weekend. It looks like a 40% chance of rain all next week in Van Buren County. My fields are all sprayed and ready, just need to seed and add water.
 
The airplane hit mine and my neighbors fields a week ago Thursday. I'm sure the seed was fine under that bean stubble until the rains came this week. Always excites me to see the cover crop coming up.
