We've been making home made Pizza lately, the kids really enjoy making them, and it beats the heck out of anything I have ever had at a restaurant (or delivery).

Prosciutto and home grown peppers(before) with fresh mozzarella :

looks great, have read where folks like doing them on the grill, might do that 1 day on the webber with some hickory smoke to add some flavor

Its just a basic Pizza crust and whatever toppings you want to add.

A few things I think are critical is using bread flour instead of all purpose to get a crisper crust. Cook it as hot as you can possibly get your oven, I think pre-heating the pizza pan helps too, and precook your toppings at least half way to get rid of some moisture that could make the crust soggy.

looks good. i have changed to whole wheat flour crust and love the texture

We got an idea off of Disney Channeltake whole wheat pita bread, put a little pizza sauce on it and then add cheese and toppings and bake for a few minutes. The 2 and 4 year-old love it and it is something they can do and have fun with. It actually is quite good and is like a thin crust pizza. I experimented the other day and cut a hoagie roll in half and lightly toasted it and then added everything on top and it was very, very good as well. We love pizza in this house.

Also spreading the dough out on the pan and throw it in the oven for about 5 minutes then take it out and add your toppings then put back in oven cook till done helps with a crisper crust also.

Nice...a quadruple post! :)

I wanted to make sure you saw it....I know how difficult reading can be for you Bama boys, LOL! :D

I have no idea what happened. I swear I only hit the button once, but it locked up on the serverit gets goofy around that time of the morning.

I use the whole wheat pizza dough from publix, put it on a pizza pan and throw on the smoker on 225 for about 25 minutes. Then pull it out and add sauce/cheese/toppings and then put it back directly on the grill/smoker at 350 for about 12 minutes.

I'm sure the high heat method would work best but the tops my smoker/grill does is 400 so I'm limited to more of a low and slow method but it allows some time to get some smoke flavor in the crust so it changes it up a bit from a traditional pizza.
