Never tried them in the garden before and considering planting some and possibly kidney brand as well this coming spring. Can anyone give recommendations or insight on how they do in west TN.

Red kidney did good in our garden a couple years ago. Tried some kind of pintos this year and all they did was make vines. May have been some kind of French kind.
My boy planted Jacobs Cattle.

Heirloom options: Cherokee Trail of Tears pole beans (gorgeous glossy black), Painted Pony bush beans (tan and cream). Both can be picked young to eat as snap beans, or left to dry on the vine for dried bean storage.
I like October beans too.

Regarding OCT beans I bought a bushel from the local farm in stanley valley, hulled them and vac sealed 1lb to bag and in the freezer. They didnt last long we really liked them vs pinto bean.

October Beans. Plant in July and pick in October.

Ended up going with Jacobs cattle and Vermont cranberry beans. Both did ok. Planted them again this year.

My bush green beans are doing well. Spacing out plantings---Going to end up with around 10 or 20 plants--I know I can continue to harvest so long as we pick but we eat a lot of these. And they can very well.

Coworker gave me some extra roma II bush beans he had left over...added two rows in one of our raised beds and so far they are doing great...may add another row this weekend.
