Pines or hollows?

Ok so in past years I've always hunted the hardwood hollows have had decent success. Recently someone hinted to me that I need to start looking into hunting the pines. Now I'm confused; should I start hunting the pines and leave the hardwood hollows alone or should I continue to do what I do. I have noticed that every time I see a deer in the hardwoods they come out of the pines.

So my question is, what do the majority of yall hunt? Pines or Hollows?

I always have my best luck hunting the edges. Seems like the deer travel just inside the pines where its less open.

Now is the time to be hunting the acorns. At this point I won't hunt pine edges again until after the rut. If there were no acorns that changes things.

the pines I'm talking about are big mature pines which are just as wide open as the hollows but it seems that most scrapes and rubs are in the pines.

If you've done your scouting hunt where the deer are. It can be hard figuring where to set up in pines but after you've hunted them a while you'll find particular areas they seem to like better than others and wherever they come from or go to they seem to pass through these areas doing so.

edges are key when deer hunting.

I rarely hunt pines but I love to sit in a cedar thicket where you have to sit down on the ground to even see past 15 yards.
