Anyone know of a timber company that will plant pines around Perry County. Any cost estimates? I have 147 acres that I want to plant in pine. (a little to much to do myself)

Not sure about the prices, but I have farming buddies that plant pines in the winter for timber companies. The companies usually contract the plantings out to a private individual.

Better hope you don't have an ice storm like we did in the winter of 2009! Pines and ice don't go to well together. We lost 3 pine in my FIL's yard, and a neighbor lost 60 acres of 20 year old pines, to the ice storm. JMHO

If you can plant them in one certain area, they are great.

I don't like them when they are spread all over a large area. loblollys are nice pines.

I have an old christmas tree farm on my place. Its cool in the summer time and provide great cover year around

Exactly. Also a great place for deer to hide during very cold, wet, windy weather.
