Phosphate question?

I was wondering if phosphate residue in the soil has much bearing on the development of deer antlers. I live in Maury Co.
and it seems like a lot of good bucks are taken in areas that was
previously minded of phosphate. At one time, Maury Co. had alot
of surface mining for phosphate.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I have noticed
over the years that there always seems to be good deer taken in
those areas.

Phosphate is a salt of phosphoric acid so no it has nothing to do with it. However, dicalcium phosphate, typically used as chicked freed, promotes antler development and is supposedly good to used in a mineral lick mixtures. I have added this supplement to a new lick for the first time this spring and they are tearing it up.
