I have a nice persimmon tree on the edge of the road.. every year for the past 25 years.. the deer have kept them cleaned up.. I mean.. as soon as one hits the ground, seems like 2-3 deer are fighting over it.. until this year.. the road way has literally been littered in persimmons.. have not seen a single deer near the tree.. walked by it yesterday, probably 200 seeds on the side of the road where they just rotted , ran over.. and disappeared.. can't imagine what's different this year vs the past 25…??

Idk but the local herd that's had 10-11 showing up several times per week in our back field has thinned down to just 4-5 this year.
It seems like there's a lot less deer in my area than there has been in years past.

The food sources are abundant this year. Deer are not having to travel as much for food. I believe this is the main case for the lack of deer being seen on average across the state.
