Perfect conditions

We don't get this much in October. Everything is good. If you have a good food source you should spend an evening or 2 trying it out. I've been seeing some insane amount of deer going to green in the afternoons. Just a heads up if anybody's intersted. Lol

I was gana go this morning but realized last night I didn't have any of my colder gear ready to go and was still tired from past week so I just stayed in but sure seemed like a good one to be out there .

Been perfect conditions, but deer where I'm hunting seem to have a ton of food,
including acorns. Just near zero daytime travel between bedding & feeding areas.

But I do love the weather,
including being one of the few who "liked" yesterday's wind.

I sure didn't like the wind. That's at least the 5th time this season I have gone with a predicted N/NE wind and ended up with a S/SE wind!!!???? I don't think it's a particular geographic feature that is causing this because those 5 hunts tools place on 3 different properties...

0 acorns here. Deer are pounding green fields. Too bad I don't have any on my lease. I'm hunting them going and coming.

What I don't like is NO wind, or little wind, like we've had several mornings prior to Sunday morning.
Most of the time, I consider the wind my friend, at least compared to NO wind.

This time of year, linear distance deer movement is typically not much.
If deer are only going to move a couple hundred yards or less during early morning or late evening,
can be difficult to set up without being detected when there is no wind.
Right now, that's what I'm seeing with all the abundant and diverse food sources where I'm hunting.

Wind helps camouflage your noise coming in, as well as any movement you make.
But even better, deer tend to move more with some wind vs. no wind.
