Had the distinct pleasure of spending the better part of a day with my own son as well as Captain NBForrest, elite fishing guide from Cleveland, TN. It had been too long since I'd kept such good company for such a fine purpose. The water was gorgeous, the lake relatively undisturbed, and the fish fairly cooperative.
As always, NBF shines on the water
The college boy hasn't lost his touch, although he can't obey a simple request to catch some yellow perch
Fortunately there are no length limitations on perch
UNfortunately the leaf spring on the trailer snapped on a rock. Took us two hours and the help of some passersby to get things into limping condition
Cleaning the fish, one perch had a 2" crawdad in his belly, one had hundreds of tiny, tiny snails, and one was chockfull of 8-10 of these thumbnail-sized critters. Anyone ID them for me? Ugly beasties, shell almost like a little turtle.
Good day, 18 keepers, and a great escape!
