Very nice. How tall is the tree? Do the deer eat the pears? I friend of mine in Cookeville planted a number of apple and trees a couple of years ago and the deer killed most of them by rubbing their horns on the young trees.

about 8 foot,deer do eat pears,yeah,you gotta protect the trunks,and Ive done that

Talked to a friend of mine who is an agronomist at the U of SC,he said to pinch off some if they produce real young,or the branches have a tendency to break under the weight
