A buddy of mine reports that he has 3 peach trees that were full of peaches on Sat and Sunday.. He returned Monday afternoon to find all of the trees picked clean.

2 Legged or 4 legged critters? He suspects 2 legged but I am of the opinion Coons got them.

I've had deer clean a my smaller peach trees clean in no time flat. Wasn't sure what was doing it for sure so I put my trail cam out and got plenty of evidence. Those suckers know right when they're ready too. Mine had pits all over under the tree.

Probably coons. I did bake 5 peach cobblers last night though :D

In all seriousness I'm not sure. Are they somewhere a 2 legged critter could get to easily?

Could be a combination. I know coons and squirrels will pick them and drop them then eat them off the ground...if the deer don't get to them first.

I once picked 1/2 of all cherries on a medium sized tree. The next day I came home from work and all the rest were gone - not one cherry left. The critters discovered them and they were gone.
