Doing our yearly batch of broilers and decided to try early fall. Got 53 little ones in the hatch house now!

On a related note, our heritage pigs that we turned loose in the woods this year have hit about 450# apiece and still have a few months to go. They have been eating corn and veggies all summer and early fall but now that acorns are dropping I am going to finish them out solely on acorns like Allen Benton does and see how they go
 
We can definitely barter up some stuff. You might just want to plan to bring your knives, a cooler, hunting gear and just plan to butcher, hunt and drink some shine. I'm not trying to butcher them until winter sets in so they can hang and be processed properly

Say. How you gonna catch em and kill em? Or do I have that reversed? Pig that size you gonna need a serious knife to stick them.

Man I have no idea as I have never asked one. Raised many litters of pigs and never once thought about it! We'll put the pigs in small catch right by the fence line and when the day comes to kill we just end their lives and then hook them to the loader of the tractor. Apparently there are plenty of knives available for killing the pigs, all I got to do is post up here!!!

Count me in. I want to turn one of those hams into a prosciutto. -could also use some pure fatback. I'll bring a butcher's block, a 5 pound cleaver and a bone saw and do some heavy construction. :)
