This guy came in on the 1st morning of the Juvy hunt. Looks like an older 2-1/2. Wasn't the deer we wanted for the boy's first buck so it was a pass. Any other day should he be in the freezer or given time to see how he grows up?

Are you asking weather you should kill him or not ? I almost 100% he is only 1 1/2 . And you never know what he could turn into .

Shoot him or not ? That is up to the shooter . If he would make you happy then shoot .

he looks like a 1.5 to me as well. i would pass him, but if my daughter wanted to shoot him i would drag him to the truck

Looks 1.5 to me and if it makes the hunter happy then the hunter should shoot it, otherwise I'd let it walk.

My first deer had antlers only a couple of inches taller than that and I don't regret that shot at all. It was the last hour of the last day I could hunt. It also ended my first season with some venison in the freezer. I do have to admit that last year (my 2nd) I began the year hoping for better. Finished that season again at the last hour of the last day I could hunt with a considerably larger 5 point (much bigger body and decent rack just not a lot of points). This year I'm hoping for better but will not be disappointed with whatever God chooses to send in front of my sights.

After looking at some trail pix the night before, he knew what was around and decided to wait this one out. The wait did pay off and he got his deer later that evening. 1.5..I thought a yr. older.
