Painting a deck ?

I have one more cross member and supports to put in and I will be ready to get and cut my plywood for my casting deck I am putting in my boat.

I am going with 3/4" plywood and thought I would paint it with something to help with the life of it to keep from getting water damage from any water that does get in my boat from rain or whatever.

What should I paint or seal it with before I put my carpet on it ?

I don't see why a few coats of just plain ol deck sealer wouldn't work?

Wrap it in fiberglass and poly resin. It's easy.

Spar urethane.

Spray with bedliner material and you get waterproof coating and good grip for footing as well.
