Pack Full of Calls

I have slates, boxes, tubes, mouth calls, and several I don't know what to label...some commercial and some custom...some cheap and some expensive; high pitched, low pitched, raspy and everything in between. Some don't sound so good, some sound great, and some even sound like a turkey. Point being on any given day any call will bring a bird in just as on any given day no call will work. Do we need them all? I can fool a few with just my mouth or scratching in the leaves or even with a loose piece of barbed wire and an old fencepost.

I'm like you and over the years I've trimmed it down to a couple of friction calls and 2 mouth calls. I don't use anything else and don't neec it either

I usually only carry 2, one to use and one for backup. Sometimes three. Wingbone, tube and mouth call. They all work, but which one I use is mostly personal preference. It does seen that the turkeys really like the sound of a wingbone especially.

I tend to go over prepared when in reality the bare bones minimum is all I really need.
