Not really knowing much about O/U shotguns...... Is there any performance loss in shooting a 2 3/4" shell in a 3 1/2" chambered gun.....specifically an O/U?

From those that know from experience..... If you had the oppertunity, would you go with a Winchester 101 or a Browning Citori Lightning? Got a line on a used one of each....

i cant say for sure if there would be any performance loss, but i doubt it would have an effect. if i was choosin between the two i would pick up the browning. ive shot my uncles citori the past two years dove huntin and that is the best feeling gun ive ever handled.

Well if I picked one up I would have to get the 3.5" chambered one..... that's alot of change to lay down for a gun that will see little use.... I could do anything from skeet shooting to goose or turkey hunting with a 3.5" shell. I have read that when patterning turkey loads that shooting a 3" shell in a 3.5" chamber didn't pattern so good.... hence the performance question. But I have a dedicated turkey gun as far as that goes. I was just thinking about dove hunting with a gun that would also see some goose loads. I'm just thinking about what to add to the "family" and since adopting the lever gun, a O/U gun is next on the "want" list.....
