I saw zip the last day of the season but I did do a little scouting beyond where I hunted. I found a promising area with quite a few rubs and a couple of fresh scrapes. I'll probably get in there next season. I came home and put everything away for the year and cut up a couple of deer I had chilling. Now it's time to break out the grinder and smoker and start playing with some of the meat from the 10 deer I put up over the season.
 
Andy...Did you lay off the last part of the season? I didn't see you up there. Did you see the pic on the board of the buck that ended my buck hunting? I still think that was bogus. Next year's a new year though.

Did you ever hunt that new cutover in area 2 on the other side of the river? I started to check it out but thought I'd give it a year's growth first.
 
Yeah, I had some family things come up last week of November that kind of knocked me out of the saddle and I never fully recovered. I expect this year will be my lowest hours afield since joining Ames, but like you said, next year is a new year and I will be anxious to hit the woods and make up for lost time. I never did hunt that new cut over, but like you, may make my way back there in the near future. As far as your second buck, I did see that and if I remember correctly, I got him on trail camera back in November. I'll have to look through my pics to see for sure. Congrats again on a great season and I look forward to seeing you all up there next fall.

In your camera ventures in area 2 where we ran into each other...did you travel down that narrow bottom north of where you had your camera? Several rubs on 10" trees. I'll be in there prior to next year's rut.
 
I got the picture right where we ran into each other in that bottom. I did not make my way north in that bottom, but rubs that size is something to look forward to, no doubt. Best of luck in there next year.
