Otis cleaning system

Anybody use this system? I talked to a guy at the range and saw it on the Outdoor Channel. It looks pretty safe.

safe yes, work well? I doubt it. You just can beat mechanical scrubbing with a rod and brush, then patch over jag.

The otis (or boresnake) would be perfect for remote field use, where you either need to dry out or oil your bore after hunting in rain/snow, but I would think all it could do other than that is remove a little powder fouling (and leave all the carbon deposits/ copper).

I agree. Sometimes you need some mechanical help with cleaning. A boresnake will only do the chemical part. You need both chemical and mechanical force to do the best job possible.
