I have a Savage 7mm Mag and am looking to use a 139g SST round. I know they shoot very flat, but I was looking for others' opinions on how they perform and the kick that they have. Thanks.

They perform very well with my 270WSM. Too good. They blow the crap out of deer at closer ranges. I like the Interbond better for deer hunting (not too much fragmentation/meat damage).
BTW I shoot the 130's and they shoot pretty much the same point of aim so I can use the SST's for practice and what not.

The kick will be determined by powder/load and bullet weight in a particular rifle not really brand of bullet.

Welcome!

I shoot the 139 grain SST, and it "Layeth the Smacketh down". I shoot it in a 7mm-08 though, so recoil in the MAG I don't know. Super-close would be messy I'd say.

I shoot some 129sst handloads out of my 260. Great load on paper. I have'nt had a chance to test'em out on deer, but I shoot the 200gr sst's out of my 45cal ml and they will wreak havoc on deer. My buddy shoots the sst's out of his 300 short mag. Skynimrod is right, he absolutely obliterates deer with his, lots of damage.

I wanna try them out of my .280 rem. Shoot I haven't been able to get any of them yet but the 150 nbt out of my 7mag n in the .280. Puts the hurt on any thing I aim it at only had one deer ever take more than one step afterwards

I have been using SST in both of my hunting rifles. I load 117 gr sst for my 25-06 and 165 sst in my 300 win mag. They both will put 3 shots under a quarter on paper out to 250 yards, in factory browning barrels, from a bench rest. I have never lost a deer from them.

I've used the ML version and really like them. I bought a box of 130 gr SST for my .270 WIN to replace NBTs, but haven't actually loaded any up yet. Too much fun playing around with my 260 REM.

Teh reviews and research I did sounded pretty good.
