Those are nice little scopes, but the way the 36mm objective is and the mount location, the objective hit my rear sight on a Marlin 336, even with the sight folded down. Tried higher rings, but the cheek weld went to pot with that lever action stock. I went with a 1.5-5 Leupold with the 20mm straight tube. Low rings got it down where the cheek weld was good. 5X max magnification is plenty with the .30-30/.35 Rem class

I have this combo on my 336, 35, as well as my 2 rifles in 350 legend.

Love them

I had that scope on a Marlin 1895M .450 Marlin with the XS rail. It had straight stock so I bought a stock pack to get my head up behind the scope. Perfect match for a lever gun.

So long as the 36mm bell clears the barrel and or rear sight with your desired mounting system it's a fantastic scope and about the perfect power range.

I use to get hung up on having back up sites on long guns in case of scope damage but in all the years of hunting never have had to use it even when damaging a scope in the field. Always had a back up I could rely on.

All those years I went out west hunting I always carried two rifles.

I have a 1.5X5 20mm on my .35 Remington and an old El Paso fixed 3X Post Weaver on the other.
I like small, low-power scopes on my levers.

I like the 1-3x20 weaver, 1-4x20 and 1.5-5x20 Leupolds on lever guns.

I have a couple of 2-7x33's and they are nice too but the 20mm scopes are my favorites.
