Strange color and markings on this deer that I recently got on my trail cam. You can still see faint spots on the side, coloring from slightly behind the head is certainly different than normal. Thoughts ....

Odd but it happens. I have saw quite a few yearlings with the spots still visible down each side of the backbone from above!

On occasion, I've seen fawns that didn't grow a winter coat and still have their summer spotted coat. I've even seen rare instances where they hold a spotted coat into adulthood.
 
I was hoping you would see this one and respond BSK, thanks. First time I have gotten this deer on camera, have had the camera out since Sept / Oct 2010. Will be interesting to see if I continue to see the deer or if the coat will change and it will blend in.
