We had alot of birds the first two hours.
I killed a mallard susie and then went to the back of the blind (in the dry) and cooked and let the boys have at it.
They had a blast.
Magnolia hot weenies as a pre-breakfast teaser.
Then I made sausage, egg & cheese sandwiches.
Had ketchup, mustard, and two brands of hot sauce to go with them.
After everyone got all that ate, in between emptying their guns, I baked some biscuits and fried up a package of Wrights bacon.
Had some muscadine jelly to go with it. (Homemade)
The water came up QUICK around the edges and under the trestle got deep quick so we decided discretion was the better part of valor and we hauled butt.
Looking like it may be too deep to drive in but not deep enough to put in at the parking lot tomorrow.
All in all it was a fantastic morning and we had alot of fun and ate good and laughed alot.
I think MAN said the total for the morning was 6 mallards and 3 gadwalls.
Wet wet wet.
Took me 30 minutes to clean my dang gun.
OH I forgot the BEST part.
Working the spread and MAN wanted me to stick the vortex down in the ground for him since he was in the boat and couldn't get any leverage.
Went about 4 inches too far down and filled my waders / boots up to the knee with water.
Nice way to spend the day.
