My lil man just turned 6 yrs old in july and for over 2 yrs and when he turns 6 he can start hunting so that's all I've heard since the day I told him that. We have both been excited for that day to come as it approaches I told him over aweek ago that on opening day we was gonna try to double up and both take a deer i said after u shoot your deer then we will wait and see if i can shoot one. Well we got in the stand and got situated and right after day break we had one deer spot him move and it ran off so I kept stressing to him the he had to sit still and we would see another deer. Well I looked behind us and we had a buck about 10 yrds behind out tree so I whispered to him not to move that a buck was right behind us and then he got so excited and start shaking and laughing out loud and could not control himself and I kept trying to calm him down and watching the buck. The buck heard him laughing and looked at him for a couple mins and went back to eating and my lil man is still all to pieces the buck heard him again and turned and went to the opposite side of us and was fixing to go in the thick stuff and I took the shot. The buck ran and stopped I knew he was hit hard so I got down and went over where he stopped and I seen him laying about 20 yrds away and my lil man wanted to go see it so we went and I took a pic with him and the buck and we went back and got back in the stand. He said he wanted to kill a doe then. We get back settled in and i was putting his gloves back on him and we had a deer bust us from behind and ran off. He's full of energy and struggling to sit still and I'm constantly tell him if he will sit still we will see a doe and he said dad i want to shot a buck and I thought now this is probably gonna make it harder for us to double up but I didn't say anything to him. I was just looking around about a min later and I seen a deer just standing about 50 yrds away and what do u know it's a buck so I told him and he started shaking again and laughing out loud again with excitement. I kept telling him to calm down and he could kill this deer as it worked it's way to us. The deer finally seen him shaking and it turned to go back the way it came and I told my lil man to pull the trigger and he did just that. I seen the deer run about 20 yrds and started going side to side and then I couldn't see it anymore I told him u got him buddy and he lost it and started letting it go with excitement and the smile on his face was worth more than any amount of money in the world. I have to say yesterday morning was my best hunt ever not only did he kill a 3pt and I killed a 8pt but we did what we set out to do and that's us doubling up on his first ever hunt but I seen him turn into a true sport man yesterday morning and I'm one proud and blessed dad to be able to see it and be apart of it. His name is Hunter and I think I picked the best name for him. Lol sorry for the long read

That brought a smile to my face. The laughing out loud with excitement got me. That is truly awesome. Congrats to both of you! Thanks for sharing ya'lls story
