Was a great morning in the turkey woods this morning. Mine gobbled his head off on the roost but only gobbled twice on the ground. He came in silent, and I had the shot so I got to go first.
It took a while to strike another one for my son but finally got on one mid morning. He was hot and lonely. He hung up a little out of range where we couldn't see. I switched calls and he gobbled four times in a row. He basically ran the last 20 yds before he met his maker.
I tried to get my daughter on one after, but we only saw one hen.
It was a great and blessed day in the turkey woods.
