I really hope this is an option in the near future. Having to find a printer at times is a real pain and takes most of the convenience out of online check in.
 
Wish they would go to a tele-check system and you call the number and check your deer in and they give you a confirmation and do away with checking a deer in. I don't have internet at my house and have to drive 12 miles to the nearest checking station.

When it was thoroughly researched, the voice recognition systems (telecheck) were expensive to the point of being cost prohibitive for TWRA.

If things continue to go as planned, it looks like there will be a smartphone app system rolled out in time for the spring turkey hunts. With a system of physical checking stations, online checking, and the smartphone deal it looks like we should have the vast majority of hunters fairly well covered.

same here until i findley got inter net a year ago with high speed. and the nearest checking station in up in chuck swan about 10 miles from me

No. You can pre-print the tags, but you must have the tags under the current system.

Yes, or with an internet computer connection without immediate printing capability.

You must print in the transaction number generated when you check out the animal (as well as the other information on the tags).
 
I feel like the online check-in system is why an earn a buck program wont work. All you'd have to do is check in you "so called" doe. Unless they made it like bears, where you have to check them in at a physical location.
 
Believe it or not, TN is way ahead of some other states on check-in.
In Utah, there is no on-line check-in and you don't go to a game station. After the end of the season, they select a random number of licensees and call them on the phone to get their hunting results. From that they extrapolate the total state harvest.
