Cooper, founder and part owner of Cooper Firearms, told USA TODAY in a story published Tuesday [color:#FF0000](10-30-2008) that he has voted for Republicans for most of his life, but he is backing Obama "probably because of the war. And also because the Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years." Cooper said he was attracted to the Democrat's message about "the retooling of America, which involves the building of middle-class jobs and helping American small business be competitive with those overseas."

Wonder if Mr. Cooper feels duped by Obama now?

Dollar against a donut, Mr. Cooper will NOT vote for Obama in 2012.

i just read that article and i cant believe the guy that endorses obama, a self proclaimed oxymoron "gun toting democrat", made the comment that we were the "crazies". it absolutely is baffling.

Note the article was dated 10-30-2008.
I bet he doesn't endorse Obama in 2012.

Many, MANY people were rightfully about as upset with the Republican as the Democrat politicians in 2008. Obama APPEARED to be a CHANGE from the "politics as usual". People were and still do want a change away from all this political mess. In 2008, many people saw little difference in what they should expect from the Republican vs. the Democrat party ---- they had gone for years being essentially one of the same and both bad. People were (and still are) angry at politicians, politicians period.

The big mistake many made was ASSUMING Obama meant a change for the better. At the end of the day, Obama was just another lying politician that many good people made the mistake of believing.

Hindsight is 20/20.
