Been taking these kids and haven't killed a deer myself the last couple seasons. My son killed one Tuesday and this morning I was sitting there drinking my coffee when a yearling popped right out of the ditch beside me. She was DOA before I could even hit the brakes. The 6.7 Cummins had terrible penetration but the kinetic energy it packs is astounding. Tore loose the air dam but some zip ties had me right back in business.

And people on here will argue that energy isn't what kills the deer

Will 6. 7 do the job? Sure.

But, once you go 5.9L 360 magnum, you'll never go back. Little more kick, but cheaper ammo.
