What if any things do you take to pass the time in the woods? Ipad, book, etc.
I let my son take his Nintendo DS and I occasionally play games on my phone. Just wondering if yall did.

I personally try to zone in with my surroundings and pay attn to anything out of the ordinary. My kids occasionally take a game with the sound off but only when sitting with me!

I let my daughter take her games, but I keep my head on a swivel and totally concentrate on looking and listening...and still have had deer slip in on me un-noticed.

No games no books no texting or talking on the phone. [don't get cell service anyway where I hunt] I Just watch and listen, yeah it does get boring sometimes.

No electronics on the stand except for phone (emergency only). Been hunting for 30 years and didn't have anything when I was a kid and don't have a need for anything now. If I get bored, I think about times with my kids and wife. Or maybe just think about back to my younger years and things I've done.

I have been in the electronic tech field in various forms since 1987. I have multiple servers, pc's, laptops, smartphones, home theater, and everything else buzzing at me in my life.

The last thing I want when I'm in the stand is to see anything but what the CREATOR made for me. That's my entertainment...and my escape...

Phone for emergencies and occasional text to hunting buddies and family. Video camera if I'm filming someone.

I wait all year to get in the woods and hunt. I can play games and read any time. A momentary mental lapse could result in the buck of a lifetime slipping up on me.

I don't normally get bored. If I do, its because I lack confidence in my location. In that case, I get down and go scouting.

Usually my phone. Got everything a computer has pretty much.... but where I was this weekend I had no signal at all. I actually seen a lot of deer... maybe cause my phone wasn't in my hand....

Last year my brother left his stand a little early and went to our "meeting spot" to wait for me. I was still seeing lots of deer(it was the rut) and NO WAY was I leaving yet. He was standing up at the edge of a 20 yard wide man-made trail. He put leaned his gun against a tree and started texting friends. He looked up and not 20 yards away was a buck he said was about 18 inches wide and probably a 140ish class. He tried to slowly reach for a gun......well you know the rest. The white flag and lots of regret!
