old style Rem 700 bolt lock safety

I have the factory trigger on the 25-06 polished like glass and set pretty dang light with no creep or overtravel,,I had actually forgotten about doing this,,

it was made well before they changed the safety and would lock the bolt and you had to flip the safety off to unload it,,back before internet and all I expiermented with this safety and filed the piece of the safety off that held the bolt closed so I could unload it without flipping the safety,,I see now where you can get that piece from Remington to change it over,,

I must have been 10 years ahead of Remington in doing this,,LOL

Just don't send it back to Rem... they'll install a new trigger set heavy before returning the action to you.

I wouldn`t trade it for anything short of a Jewel,,I have a Shilen in my RUM and a Timney in 2 other rifles and the factory trigger in the 25-06 is at least as good as either of those,,
