Old or modern?

Just getting into metal detecting, and found this today on our farm. There is no history of civil war in this particular area of Greene co, but I also know no one in the family in at least the last 40+ years have fired a muzzleloader on this property. Can anyone help with age or ideas?

Sorry, but I am of no help whatsoever on civil war bullets but it looks like a pretty cool find. Hopefully someone here can help.

3 ring minie ball. Civil War Era. 58 cal. Greene County had a lot of Civil War activity. Lots of skirmishes and camps there. The biggest one was probably the Blue Springs skirmish but any time you had soldiers in a county or area, your chances are decent for finding stuff.

Interesting! How deep do you typically find these?

The one I have pictured was in a plowed/disced food plot only about 4 inches deep.
