Condition & caliber unimportant, so long as it's functional.
I'm looking to use it as a project base to build a classic safari caliber rifle for a friend of mine.
We're doing a hog hunt in Texas next year, but we're doing it after the fashion of an old 1900's Africa hunt. It was put together by a really good friend of mine & the other 2 of us going would like to put him together a thank you gun.
Obviously, with all the extra work involved we like to keep initial cost as low as we can. I'll be organizing the rebore, chamber & metal finishing (I'm thinking he'd really get some use from a 9.3x57 or 62) & my other buddy is going to handle the stock work.
A Mauser or push feed M70, long action, are going to be the easiest options for us to work with.
