3/3/11 The crappie bite is pickin' up. We caught sixteen keepers in two hours today in 2-4 ft. of CLEAR water. Get away from the mud! Headed back out tomorrow.. Pics to follow ;)
 
I don't fish any where near that lake, but I am curious how you are catching them that shallow right now. Last weekend temps were in low 50's. I caught one big bass in 3-4 ft of water but not a sniff from the crappie and I was actually crappie fishing. What type structure are you on and are u in the head of the creeks where it gets shallow?
 
KatMan I don't know why they're already that shallow.. I never checked water temp. I know last weekend a few guys were catching 'em around 10 ft. All these fish were off boat docks. They're staying close to deeper water.. Not quite exactly where I like 'em just yet. It'll really pick up soon.
