well guys i got out yesterday at 10am to prefish for a tournament i have next weekend. i decided to disect and fish a big creek. i cant say which one bc of ny tournament. but water temp was 47 degrees. caught 8 fish in first hour and half with one keeper. but i was spot hopping. once i located fish in one spot, i went to a different one! i was trying to see how fast i could catch these fish. i threw spinnerbait, slow rolled crankbait, threw lipless, and a jerkbait. it was clear that they wanted it slow. so i stuck with jerkbait, but i fished it slow. i was using jerk jerk pause, wait 5 seconds, then jerk pause. wait 5 seconds then repeat. it produced all my fish that i caught. ended the day with 18 fish and 4 keepers! i never slowed down to fish jig and pig or worms. figure i will by next weekend. but as far as the fish, i fished deep water close to shallow. i looked for any kinds of rock that would hold heat. then looked for wood on it. they were holding tight to cover. came of lake at 330. hope that helps if anyone goes. jusst remember to dress for the conditions and to have plenty pairs of gloves! as far as the bite, i felt everyone.
