This afternoon I found this old looking bullet in the dirt where I recently plowed up a small spot looking for arrowheads. I am hoping someone can help me identify what is might be.
It appears to be pretty old, but it has what appears to maybe be a remnant of what may have been a tarnished copper jacket near the base??? That makes me wonder if it's not something made in the last 50 to 100 years. It does not appear to have been fired and is not deformed except where the plow appears to have whacked it over the years.
In the photo I compared it to a .50 caliber TC maxi ball that is 370 grains. As you can see, it about the same diameter but longer, and it measures exactly 1 inch long.
Any ideas???
