Okra's doing great, but when do I harvest? It seems like these things would grow over a foot if I let them. Should I harvest at six inches? Four inches? When do they taste best? Thanks.

I always judge by cutting... cuts smoothly if they are good, makes a good crunch if they are too tough. Throw out the big tough ones, they are unpleasant.

Well I just cut mine up and breaded and put in the freezer for later. If it was too crunchy while cutting, it went in the trash. A few were so tough (about a foot long) I had trouble cutting them. They all seemed to be good out to 6 or 7 inches. I think mine are Emerald
