you can also try and physicaly move the rear sight up closer to you if you can. that may give you an extra inch or so.

I had to do this last year after I bottomed my rear sight out and it would not go any lower. Now the poa it the poi.
 
I actually moved it towards me almost a half inch.
Due to how the rib is made I can't get it any closer.
Unless I buy a stick on sight.
 
Is it really high, or is it your expected POI is on the top of your sight picture.

In other words, imagine an exclamation point. The dot at the bottom is the top of your front post...the upward line is your pattern: " ! "
