I did a brassica plot of maybe 1/4-1/3 of an acre in size. Didn't get too good germination rate, and with the dry weather we've had for three+ weeks that which did germinate may not make it till the next rain. I was thinking of going back and reseeding with either wheat or forage rye…I assume I have plenty of time for the wheat, but what about the rye? I'll be just broadcasting right before a rain with no mowing or spraying and hoping for the best.

If there is ever a decent forecast of rain again we are planning to top sow cereal rye and/or winter wheat in the thin areas ...some of our barasicas are doing ok....some are not going to make it.

This is how thin most of mine are. Another two weeks without substantial rain and they will be completely dead. And by the way, did I ever mention I have rocky plots? ;)
