oil under barrel

What do you use under the barrel of a flintlock rifle to keep it from rusting?
Mine has a pined in barrel. I can remove the barrel but I don't want to do that every
time I go hunting.

Wax! Lots of Guys wax the wood and the metal too protect them from the elements.

I normally only pull mine every year or two, unless there's a suspicious reason too pull the barrel.

I haven't experienced any rust under any of my guns so far and haven't waxed them.
My wood was seal coated and I wipe the exterior with Barricade is all I've done.

I plan too pull my rifle barrel again soon, it's been a year or so and I need too fix a loose nose cap & repair a hairline crack in the wood.

The guns been thru a couple of good soaking rainfalls and survived a 4 wheeler rollover... I need to get in some shooting before the Fall Rendezvous & Hunting Season's start! It'll be here before we know it!
