Got to finally make it to one of their shoots yesterday. Man was it a blast. I was very apprehensive about going but it was way friendlier and more laid back than I thought it would be. I guess I'm hooked!

My score wasn't that great but I had a rest problem last week. I was shooting a Whisker Biscuit for years and had a problem and bought a NAP Apache Wednesday, bought a QAD on Thursday and a Limbdriver Saturday. I could not get the Qad timed right from Thursday all the way until about 2 hrs of shooting light left Saturday night. Spent those last 2 hrs trying to tune the whisker biscuit off my son's bow to mine. About 9:30PM I bought a Limbdriver. Got up and shot 12 arrows Sunday morning and then did the 30 target 3D.

I was not completely tuned at the shoot so score suffered. Plus I shot close to 200 arrows Saturday and about target 20 on Sunday I was so worn out I could hardly keep my bow arm steady. I had three 5s in those last 10 targets.

Glad you enjoyed it and I hope you return. In all fairness, it was a fairly tough course so don't be overly discouraged.

It would be nice to get several of us together and shoot since it is probably the most centrally located shoot.

I'll definitely be back. I meant to start this a while back but during tax season I miss most everyone.

If I'd had a little more time to get my new rest tuned in, I'd done a bit better. My biggest hold up was straight up fatigue from shooting so many arrows Wednesday-Saturday trying to get 3 or 4 different rests dialed in that I wound up ditching. I shot well over 200 arrows Saturday.

About target 20 I had trouble just holding my bow up.

If you continue to have rest problems, I would seriously look at the Medusa rest from Bowfinger Archery, a local Mid-TN company. It is hands down the best dropaway rear I've ever shot and I've shot them all: Limbdriver, QAD, e biscuit, Ripcord, etc... It has much tighter tolerances and a heavier spring than any of them and it is the only one that the timing is micro adjustable and you can do it without disconnecting the cord from the cable--full containment is a bonus as well!

I'm in good shape now got it tuned yesterday. Just wasn't feasible to do it in the middle of the shoot.

I'm now looking into a stabilizer set up. Just hunting and hitting the kill zone I've just used a basic set up more to secure my wrist strap than anything. I can see the advantage now if you're going for those 12 rings.

Glad you got it fixed!!

It sounds like a light has gone off....LOL. Many of us do this, not because we want to be the next World Champion archer, but to improve as archers—both in knowledge and in skill and to be quite frank...better hunters! Competitive archery will help dramatically in both skill and knowledge areas. After a season of shooting competitively you will notice a difference in the woods: you can focus better and your shooting will be better because you are used to shooting in pressure situations and you're used to aiming very small.

I really like the B-Stinger Sport Hunter Stabilizers for hunting and I set it up as close to similar as I can compared to my competition setup so there isn't a large difference in feeling—I use a 10" front bar and 8" rear bar. Try a setup like that, and you will see drastic improvements in your shooting and holding abilities, which in turn directly affect accuracy.

If you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask!

The Bee Stinger 10/8 was what I was going to start with, but every time it comes up on AT it sells before I get a chance at it. Doesn't look like it's available new any where around here.
