We leave tomorrow to bow hunt Muskingum Co in central Ohio. To say I'm pumped is an understatement! Rut will be on, corn is cut and good lord willing, I'll connect in a buckeye bruiser!

Good Luck khawk!

The weather over the last three weeks has really put a halt on movement. Last week was nasty as could be with the high winds and inclement weather from Sandy. Two weeks prior was hot and dry.

Not much rut sign on the ground...but you are going at a great time of the year.

Didnt see any rutting action this week in Ohio. Not even the young guys. But, as you know that can change like a flip of a switch!

Good luck, hunt safe, keep us posted!

@ Backstraps... do you visit ohio often? I wouldn't mind going up for long weekends if I can find a few to go with me. I usualy only go the second week of nov. for the week and that is it for me

I'm here right now posting from a stand on the Fairfield-Licking County line. Bucks have started moving again. Everything is a muddy/sloppy mess from 4 days of rain. I saw 2 big bucks cruising last night, 4 small ones this morning. Corn is still on all around me and most of the deer are staying in it. Here's one of the small ones.

I am up in Jefferson co, wind has been crazy up here, had a 115-120 " 10pt come up ridge and bed 30'yards away from me at 3:45 this eve! Hard as heck to let him walk but I am taking my buddy's advice, as this is his 6th year up here and he knows what's running these hills!

I'll be heading to Muskingum co next weekend for 7 days. Hunting just north of zanesville on some private ground. They have been seeing mature deer for the last 3 days consistently. Should be a great week for you!! Keep us posted.
