The other thread about gas in our boats motivated me to research octane boosters. Do y'all use them in your boats and which brand is best?

Check your owners manual. Some outboards recommend not to use too high of an octane.
Yamaha recommends 89. I have used 87 since I purchased the boat new in 21. No issues so far but wondered how it would perform with 90 octane. Lucas claims a true 3 point increase in octane level.

There is really no need to spend the money on octane booster unless you have a rebuilt engine where they maybe shaved a few thousandths off the block or heads to increase the compression ratio. That and a timing change would be the only reason to spend the extra money on octane boosters. Now these new computer controlled motors might be a little different. If you have your computer flashed then an octane booster and 93 would probably help you out.
