Just got notified of getting a hunt at Oak Ridge, I've never had the opportunity to hunt this area. With ir being a secured area, what is the procedure as far as stands do they tell you where or are you allowed to pick hunting locations ?

They will send you a map with all the information on the back. You can also look it up online and I believe they have a map posted from the 2019 hunts. You can kind of get an idea of what you will be hunting. You will get a day a few weeks before the hunts to scout. The map will be color coded per the area's you can hunt and the protected areas you can not. I would not leave a stand on site because they can and will cancel hunts at any time and you will not be able to retrieve the stand. I haven't heard any news about them be canceled yet but it would not surprise me if they do. The COVID b.s is still a big thing on site and we go in and out of masks mandate every few weeks.

Got any facts to back up that statement? I haven't heard anything about them cancelling the hunt yet. Even though there is a good possibility.
 
I just got notified our party had been selected for Nov 5-6 last week. I hope they don't cancel.
 
What is being said through the grapevine is they will be cancelled every year until the contract runs out then won't be renewed and if they need hunts to reduce the population then they will do their own thing.
