I've read alot about OR this year and was just wondering if it would be worth it on the 9th and 10th. I've got some good places to hunt but not sure about this year.

I also got drawn. We've decided not to go.

I think ehd has hit hard. We looked over thanksgiving and only 27 bucks have been taken all year, if I remember right.

I've been out there hiking every Sunday for the past month. Haw Ridge is still full of deer if you get back in a ways. I've seen enough that I wish I had a gun tag instead of archery. I certainly won't be skipping it.

I'll be there

Buck tag

Mossburg 500 12gauge

It's dead in my hunting holes at the house mid December anyways I have nothing at all to lose lol. Never been just hoping to get lucky

I was out there all day. Checked on some regular spots and found a couple new ones. I'm feeling good about this weekend.

Was there all day as well.

First time stepping foot on the place.

We found some good sign. jumped a few deer atleast 3 two were doe could not see what the other was.

Marked a few spots I feel pretty could about are chances of seeing some deer.

I put in for the antlerless leftover tags. Then come to find out our church Christmas musical is the 10th. With out last practice the 9th. I'm not gonna go in late afternoons and ruin somebodies hunt. And with the thoughts that EHD hit hard they get a pass from me.

Didn't see many acorns for as many oaks as are out there. I'm just wondering what time the gates open. Back of the map on the rules list says you can't enter the WMA til 1 hour before sunrise. Surely they would give you more time than that to drive in, get a climber out and get up a tree before light?

They usually open them early but depends on which gate too. Probably takes them an hour to open all the gates once they start.

This is the fourth year that we have hunted it and all but one year the gates were opened in plenty of time to get where you need to go. two years ago it was 45 minutes after daylight before they opened the one we needed. The people that were hunting close enough to walk grabbed all of their things and took off on foot while we had to wait.

There are so few people here it's eerie. I'm in an archery section surrounded by gun areas and haven't heard the first shot. Only saw 1 truck on my way in.

I'm on poplar crk rd. Seen no deer. Heard 2 shots in the gun zone across the highway. Probably gonna move once the wind gets up.

Long cold sit. I didn't move all day. Didn't even leave for lunch. Not a deer to be seen until 4. Then, they started crawling out from under the rocks. I was covered up until dark. I had at least 7 different deer inside 50 yards. The only ones offering shots were a couple small bucks. I'm probably going to sleep in tomorrow and head in just after lunch.

Let a little 3 point walk at 1030 this morning. That was the only one I saw all day and I didn't leave for lunch either. Gate man said only a spike had been taken out all day. Very cold and slow day

My brother killed a doe about 4:15. We all seen deer in gun zone (thanks buzzard breath). We just didn't get shots. His deer was #16 for the day and #17 came in as we was leaving around 5:30. Best bucks was a 1.5 old 5 pt that weighed 85lbs.
Definitely not a lot of hunters here.

I'm settled in for the afternoon. Took the morning off and went to Cracker Barrel with the wife. Hopefully they move this afternoon like they did yesterday.

I hunted this morning in a different area of tower shielding I had scouted. Had a small 8 pt come through at 940 that never got closer than 75 yards. That was all I saw. Packed up at 11 when the wind started kicking up and waved the white flag. Gate guy said nothing killed went through the gate today. Just the spike yesterday. Pretty disappointed considering I saw about 15 deer on scout day in 4 hours, and tons of buck sign to only see 2 small bucks in a day and a half. I was thinking of trying a different area through the east gate this afternoon but that wind picked up and sent me home to a warm shower and hot food. I hope you guys have some success this afternoon if you stick it out

Made it home, grabbed a hot shower and a cold beverage. Time to start reorganizing my hunting gear. I didn't see a deer tonight. I also didn't see another hunter parked anywhere or hear a single gunshot this afternoon. With so few people hunting this weekend, I really should have hunted a fresh spot tonight instead of going back to where I hunted yesterday. It's just hard to move after seeing so many deer. Live and learn.

It was on TN valley sportsman I think. I saved a screenshot on my phone, but this forum says file is too big to post. It's not a really big rack, fairly tall with some stickers. I sent you a pm.
