O/U Question

Have always wanted a good O/U 12 guage, but don't want to spend a small fortune on a Citori or high end Beretta. Been looking at some of the middle of the road guns and looks like CZ makes a few O/U's. Anybody have any experience with them?

Hold on to your money and look for good used Brownings or Beretta's. Beretta's personally don't fit me very good without quite a bit of adjustment. Nothing against them though.
What are you intentions with the gun? If your gonna be shooting it a lot. I would'nt even bother looking at anything other than the two you mentioned. Even then they are the bottom of "high end" when it comes to o/u's. For occasional use, the CZ would probably be fine. Lower end o/u's just cannot stand up to high volume shooting.

Mainly I want it as an all around gun for all types of bird hunting and recreational shooting. Not any competition shooting or anything, I have always thought of the O/U as an all around gun and have always wanted one. Just hard for me to justify 2K for a gun that is probably gonna have a few scratches and a lot of memories.

Franchi makes a nice O/U. Not cheap but not expensive and good quality.

If you are looking for a "working gun" look at Stoeger Condor. a few years back I wanted a O/U for birds (quail, grouse, pheasants, dove) and was looking at the Brownings and Ruger Red Labels but did not want a safe queen...saw the Stoegers, bought it $425 +\- and havent looked back....soild, reliable and great shooter...will shoot what ever i feed it including reloads...feild grade is just under $500 now...just my 2cents

I have a Stoeger Condor also. Its a 12 ga and it uses mossberg chokes. Good gun for the money.

We have had more than a couple of kids on our trap team show up to the range with a brand new less expensive o/u.. most done make it past the first couple of practice rounds.. they just will not hold up.. you really get what you pay for in a shotgun.. there was one here not long ago a guy was trying to sell.. he had bought a citori i think.. and was selling his condor.. i would not advise buying one..

I have a citori lightning bought used but in good shape paid 700.00 I have nothing but good things to say about it.
