I was alone when I bought this, but yes he gave me the DVD. You the guy from Kentucky?

No... guy had two younger boys with him. They looked to be mid 20s. Those calls are popular. Guy bought the exact same items u did.

We need something made up for next year showing TNDeer members

For sure. So you had the two boys I have that ebony striker too? Sorry I talked to several people. When I bought I'm trying to remember who was around lol. I agree. I'd love to put faces with names on here

Wound up buying more than I intended. Sold a couple of calls I had (as well as a golf club!) to fund the shopping.

Several mouth calls.

Hanks Glass in Osage
Hanks Slate in Osage
Hanks Anodized Aluminum in Padauk
David Halloran Macassar Ebony/Walnut box

Hickory, Cedar, Macassar Ebony one-piece strikes from Obsession Custom Calls.

I didn't intend on buying Hanks (or anything in particular before I got there). I liked the glass and slate and bought them yesterday. I went back today and looked for an aluminum call. I liked theirs as well as anyone's.

Lucked up today and picked up a Holloran Metal Mouth 2. He had sold out and had some dude that had bought 7 of them bring them back to the booth and David was going to ship him his 7 calls. They went in about 10 seconds.

I went a little more over than I intended to but it's only money [emoji23]
First stop was my usual to visit with David & Ashley Halloran and My ole buddy Cornbread.
I lucked into one of David's old stock Laminate Slate calls a few weeks ago and it is a good un. Had him autograph it and he said it was old but still screams.
I got the MM2 with a Macassar Ebony striker and played his green slate for future ordering.
After we visited a bit I mentioned a call he just built for a friend recently and how cool it was and one of a kind. Then he told me to come behind the counter and he wanted me to look at something.
Him and Cornbread handed me a box and said take your pick of these only 5 made and no one has one yet.
To my surprise they were Red Slates in a Flamed Box Elder pot. Man it's a dandy to. The wood came from Harold Fowler which he's built a few calls from the last couple years as I know a few who got Crystal Mistress in them.
I ain't turning loose of it. Got 3 more strikers with it and the DVD.
Picked up a new vest Ol Tom I-Beam 2.0.
Got a Lil Huzzy from Mr.Tony Reynolds.
Caught up with Matt McLain and stayed awhile and had a good visit and ran over his table of calls. I love how he uses different species. I could have took everyone home with me. I ended up with the curly Maple slate and an English Walnut micro tube. I got his Bubinga and an Osage striker. I left a sassafras pot that will haunt me.
Got a replacement Hoot N Stick from James Harrison since I broke mine.
Got a Hat and Call Lanyard from Steve Brown. His box calls are top of the line.
Didn't get any Mouth calls because Jonathon had sold out and headed home. Gotta get some ordered for myself and brother.
Didn't really do any cruising of the aisles pretty crowded and I had hit the booths I intended to. Left out before 1.

I picked up a Walnut Green Slate by Mark Cornelius and let me tell you it's smokin'! He won 1st in slate with it at NWTF grand nationals and several other state contests so far this year. He told me he was 1 pt from winning the DD Adams call Maker of the Year award. It sounds better than all my other slates for sure, and I've got some high end ones.

In my opinion, this means he probably could have won it had it been a 100% blind judging event. NWTF calling championships have just as much political influence as the rest of the world, especially when it comes to calls with call makers names on them.

Guarantee you a Riley Corder call will bring more money at auction than a MAC. Then add in the fact that she is the first female to win the DD Adams award, plus she's just a kid. Lots of politics and the reason why some well known call-makers don't enter it anymore.

This is great for the sport and all, but I am all about 100% transparency, fairness and unbiasedness, and writing a name on a call is not even close to that.

His wife told me 6 and held me one. I came back and was like where are the others, and she said, they went out as soon as we set them down. I got lucky too.
