I seen that but would they really cancel it now that it is scheduled? I highly doubt it but we will see

Re: FSU not Bowl eligible

FSU paid Delaware State a $475,000 guarantee for their game. Del State certified they were in compliance of NCAA rules. Del State may have to repay FSU.
FSU and Southern Mississippi will play in the independence Bowl Dec. 27. No other team is prepared to play and too much money would be lost otherwise.
FSU, after 36 consecutive years of bowl eligibility and through no fault of their own, may very well have an asterisk beside their name in the record book.

Always follow the money.

FSU has done everything to get in a bowl game. They even rescheduled a cupcake game after the season to be bowl eligible.

UF has lost several games to weather in the last 5 years. Some of those games could of saved a coaches job or made UF bowl eligible.

UF never rescheduled those games after the season. Ummm.....

Negotiations to reschedule were started by ULM long before FSU's bowl eligibility came into question. Its also was played to fulfill a contractual agreement that yielded a 1.3 million dollar payday for ULA. It was not after the season, it concluded the regular season for both teams.

In the final analysis, please note that for ULM game to actually mean anything, FSU had to win out. They did, but of course mentioning it here doesn't support the narrative, does it?

TALLAHASSEE — Despite initial reports that Florida State’s 77-6 win over Delaware State should not count toward the Seminoles’ bowl eligibility, the victory will indeed count, the university stated in a Friday night release.

After initially appearing on Reddit’s college football subreddit, r/CFB, reports circulated throughout the week indicating that FCS school Delaware State did not use the required 90 percent of scholarship grants-in-aid, thus declaring FSU’s 77-6 win on Nov. 18 would not count for bowl-eligibility.

According to an FSU release, those reports neglected to account for a long-standing NCAA rules interpretation that permits institutions (Delaware State) to use academic scholarships and other forms of non-athletics institutional aid received by student-athletes in the computation of this requirement. The reports, according to FSU, represent incomplete information and only reflect athletics scholarships received. :tu:

Funny how these things always seem to "work" themselves out. :smash:
