It seems, at least in West TN, November 30, 2024 was a good day. And I picked up the results yesterday.

This was the results of that day. He was the fifth, fifth, I say, buck to appear and chase the same hot doe. Two fork horns who got chased off quickly, an eight, a six, and then this nine. I've never heard such grunting and screaming and chasing. Bucks were circling her like sharks, bedding down only to hop up and chase her when another buck appeared, and two of them, this one included, absolutely saw me move and simply didn't care. Twenty-five yard shot with my old 7MM-08. I love the weird little kicker point he has. I'll probably never have that kind of day again.

He was also a pain to deal with. I couldn't transport him out of the county due to CWD rules and I struggled to find a taxidermist available that night. I expected to shoot a doe for meat and not have to deal with a head. So hats off to Mr. Randy Smart in Decatur County. He saved my butt that night.

Agree...it wasnt just your place....Nov 30th I sat all day and saw morning, mid-day and afternoon action...killed my buck the afternoon of Nov 30th....about 12 to 15 days later than our normal "peak"...but the 30th was on fire! Witnessed chasing, tending and defending.

Yup. The last two acorn failure years (2022, 2024) saw peak chasing about 10-14 days later than normal at my place (normal peak is Nov. 16-18).

We didn't have anybody hunting the 30th because the last two hunters needing to kill "their buck" did so the day before, the 29th, which was also crazy active.
