Standing there....Hear this voice and I'm looking every were and then the guy said move on and I find him up in a tree to my surprise. Walk over to the next ridge and to my surprise it the same way. I walk over to the next ridge and I stop and look all over and I see no orange in any of the trees BUT to make sure I yell out ANY ONE HERE!!!! and to my surprise no one answer me. So I find me a sit down spot and guess what I fall a sleep.LOL... Wake up and look up in surprise and a 4 point is walking up the ridge toward me. I shoot and the deer dies there. [QUOTE="MrJim43, post: 5773475, member: 570"] When we grew up in Humphreys co.Tn back in the latter part of the 40's and 50's there we little or no deer except in Big Sandy or in East Tn. so I did not start hunting deer till after I got out of the service late 60's. First trip is with a bunch of my friends in Nashville. Off to Catoosa we go my first deer hunting trip. Brand new 243 open sights and away we go. Found a good looking ridge and walk down it about 100 yard and stop. Now for the rest of the story.....I'm pretty will confused as to were I'm at and NO knife to gut the deer. Beginner's luck..... a guy come up out of the hollow see me standing there and said beginners luck kid. Laughing and shaking his head.. Were is your knife.....HA HA He helps me gut the deer and show me the way out. Happy.... I was the only one that kill a deer. Lots of ribbon from the guy.
