the proposed dates of the Muzzle Loader season. I have no problem with guns or the people shooting them. I'm just gonna miss having the woods to myself during that part of the season. (I'm the only "bow only" guy on my lease.) Not trying to start a debate. If I wanted to do that I'd just jump in over on the serious board. Just venting a little. Anybody else feel the same way.

I don't even know what the proposed dates are.

From what I understand, it is now proposed that the second muzzle loader season will be moved up and added on to the tail end of the first ML season. So that means 2 weeks of ML then rifle opens. Instead of having 1 week of ML then a week of archery only, then rifle opens. The ML hunters won't actually lose any days they are just moving it around. But like I said that week between the gun seasons has been a great time for archery guys to be in the woods with minimal traffic and presure.

Nashville is really screwing up Unit B.

Did you know they raised the buck limit from 1 to 3 during the muzzleloader!!!

"They" haven't done anything yet. It is just a proposal. The new proposals will be voted on tomorrow.

I'm not too happy about the proposed changes , but it won't keep me from carrying my bow in the woods during that time . I'll just have a little more company in the woods and have to wear my orange . :)
I do think it will put too much pressure on the deer before rifle season kicks in . That quiet time before rifle starts gives them time to settle down a bit .

I'm kinda like Scott, I dont care to wear my orange while bowhunting but I put up with it.

Don't like it at all. No justification for the change. The deer will be unnecessarily highly pressured for a extended period of time. I predict this will provoke much more night activity during the rut and it will show during rifle. If the problem is that some hunters are jealous of the bow only week in November, then I would rather see no hunting at all that week.. It is politics at it's best and pure BS. Nothing needs to change in unit A IMO..

I don't like the whole idea of getting another week of ML. But I look at it this way....

First off, I bow hunt 90% of the time.. But I feel like the deer are so spooked by the time that week of archery comes back around after ML that it would be hard to see alot of deer.

Granted, this isn't the case with private land, but like most people on public land it's a different story.

It seems like this change is going to cause the deer to constantly be pressured for a long period of time since there is no break in the firearms season.
It definitely does suck not to have that week of archery only hunting in there, but it won't stop me as I'll still be carrying my bow every time since I don't gun hunt. I guess that just means an extra week that we'll have to wear orange.

I really wish they didn't have any gun hunting in November. Maybe I'd stick around TN and hunt then. I am glad they opened the season to us unit "b" guys/gals in December.
