Nosler Rifles

The Thread on Remington got my inquiring mind in gear.

I went looking for info on the Nosler 28 and was staring at the M-48 Heritage line which is more of a trim level like BDL is to Remington.
With 88 grains of Retumbo or RL33 it pushes a 175 grain Accubond at 3200 FPS

And what did I see? Oh My, a Nosler 30 coming in April.

my only experience with Nosler rifles was a 325 WSM Daddy bought as a light carry rifle for an elk/mule deer hunt,good thing he bought it at Cabelas as it shot so bad he took it back and got a refund,,we could not get it to shoot anything under 1.5 MOA,,he wound up with a Cooper 338-06 and it shoots the 250 Accubonds like a 6BR and 68 gr Bergers,,

for what the Nosler rifles cost I would build a custom rifle if I was wanting a 6.5-28 or 30 Nosler,,and IMO the 28 firing 175-180 would be the way to go for a long range hunting rifle,,even as they look a whole lot like the RUM calibers I would get a lifetime of brass from the start as you never can tell what will be on shelves in 5 years,

I agree about buying a lifetime supply of brass for any proprietary cartridge such as the Nosler line. Ballistics have very little to do with popularity and continued availability!
